Charlene Li is Keynote Speaker at ASCLA President's Program
For Immediate Release
CHICAGO — Charlene Li, will be the keynote speaker at the President’s Program hosted by the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA) at the upcoming ALA Annual Conference in San Francisco.
Join us for a special session with bestselling author Charlene Li, as she explores the evolving role of leadership in the digital era. Digital and social technologies have revolutionized relationships—and leadership is not immune. Despite the pressure to engage, leaders sometimes remain on the sidelines. Li will discuss how librarian leaders can use technology to listen, share and engage with constituents, at scale, as well discuss common objections and concerns of leaders — and how to address them.
Li is the founder of Altimeter Group and the author of the New York Times bestseller, "Open Leadership," and the coauthor of the critically acclaimed, bestselling book "Groundswell." She was named one of the “Top 100 Social Media Influencers” in 2015 by StatSocial, Learn more at http://www.charleneli.com/ and check out her blog here: http://www.charleneli.com/blog/.
"We are excited to have Ms. Li as our guest at the ASCLA President's Program," ASCLA President Kathleen Pfieffer said. "In reading both 'Groundswell' and 'Open Leadership,' I was impressed by the common sense approach used by Ms. Li. She makes a compelling argument for the proactive use of social media by both businesses and the public sector as a way to engage and inform customers and constituents. In the ASCLA President’s Program at ALA Annual, you will see and hear why she has been engaged to speak to and train leaders at some of the largest businesses in the world. Her message to embrace the right social media at the right time is a strategy that will pay big dividends for any agency."
