RUSA announces Carol Schuetz as the new editor for RUSA Update

CHICAGO — The Reference and User Services Association, (RUSA) a division of the American Library Association, (ALA) announces its new editor for RUSA Update, Carol Schuetz. Carol is the business resources specialist at the Jesse H. Jones Library at Baylor University. She comes to RUSA Update after previously serving as the editor and production editor of the Library Instruction Round Table (LIRT) Newsletter and most recently as the editor of BRASS Notes. RUSA looks forward to her sharing her skills and expertise with RUSA Update.

RUSA Update, the exclusive quarterly newsletter, provides access to important news, valuable information and guidelines, written and vetted by expert librarians that can be used to direct day-to-day work.

The RUSA Update editor is a two year appointment, beginning at the end of 2014 ALA Annual Conference in Las Vegas and ending at the end of the 2016 ALA Annual Conference in Orlando. The term is renewable upon approval of the RUSA Board of Directors. The Editor is appointed by the President of RUSA in consultation with the RUSA Communications and Publications Committee.

The Reference and User Services Association, a division of the American Library Association, represents librarians and library staff in the fields of reference, specialized reference, collection development, readers’ advisory and resource sharing.
