AASL webinar provides the recipe for connecting research and the CCSS
For Immediate Release
CHICAGO – An upcoming webinar from the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) will demonstrate how research - done correctly - will touch almost every one of AASL's “Standards for the 21st-Century Learner” and the "anchor standards" in the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Presented by Paige Jaeger, “Repackaging Research - Recipe for the Common Core” will take place at 6 p.m. Central on Tuesday, May 20. For more information and to register, visit www.ala.org/aasl/ecollab/upcoming.
In “Repackaging Research,” Jaeger will address how to ensure research projects are challenging today's hyperconnected youth. The webinar will cover the topics of: moving beyond "information Hide 'n Seek," why research is the next big thing, reaching teachers and administrators, and technology integration. “Repackaging Research” is a follow up to Jaeger’s previous webinar, “Brains Change @ Your Library.”
Paige Jaeger facilitates 84 libraries in the upstate New York region and has been a librarian at both the elementary and secondary levels. Jaeger is a member of the AASL Common Core Implementation task force and a past AASL national conference and webinar presenter. She is the co-author of the book “Rx for the Common Core: Toolbox for Inquiry Based Learning” and her next book with Mary Ratzer, “Think Tank Library,” is due to be published later in 2014.
