Accepting sponsors for the ALA Emerging Leaders program
For Immediate Release
CHICAGO — The ALA Emerging Leaders program has begun the process of preparing for the 2015 class of participants. We are now accepting program sponsors. Sponsorship means that an organization will provide financial support of at least $1,000 ($500 per conference) for each Emerging Leader chosen as its participant. Sponsorship begins October 2014 and ends July 2015. Deadline is Friday, April 11, 2014.
The American Library Association (ALA) Emerging Leaders (EL) program is a leadership development program that enables newer library workers from across the country to participate in problem-solving work groups, network with peers, gain an inside look into ALA structure and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity. It puts participants on the fast track to ALA committee volunteerism as well as other professional library-related organizations.
Any ALA division, office, round table, affiliate or library-related state association may sponsor Emerging Leaders. Individuals may also sponsor Emerging Leaders.
Anyone interested in sponsoring an Emerging Leader should submit an ‘Intent to Sponsor’ form using our online form at: http://www.ala.org/cfapps/emergingleaders/sponsor/. The submission deadline is Friday, April 11, 2014.
