CHICAGO – In anticipation of the upcoming Public Library Association (PLA) 2014 Conference in Indianapolis, March 11-15, PLA has published a digital preview issue of its onsite conference newspaper, the “PLA Daily News.”
The paper highlights programs and events at PLA 2014, like the BIG IDEAS series, and offers tips for conference goers both new and experienced. It also includes recommendations from local public librarians for sightseeing and dining around Indianapolis and a special feature about the Indianapolis Public Library.
Offered biennially, PLA Conference is the premier event for public libraries, drawing librarians, library support staff, trustees, friends and library vendors from across the country and around the world. The conference includes nearly 150 top-quality continuing education programs, engaging social events, networking opportunities and a bustling exhibits hall.
PLA is a division of the American Library Association. PLA’s core purpose is to strengthen public libraries and their contribution to the communities they serve. Its mission is to enhance the development and effectiveness of public library staff and public library services.
