CHICAGO - The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) invites proposal submissions for the ACRL 2015 conference to be held March 25-28, 2015, in Portland, Ore. Contributed paper, panel session, preconference and workshop proposals are due May 9, 2014. Poster session, roundtable discussion, TechConnect and Virtual Conference webcast proposals are due Nov. 3, 2014.  Submit proposals via the online form on the conference website.

Libraries are living ecosystems that adapt, change and innovate to remain relevant to their users, institutions and the broader environment of higher education. To that end, academic librarians actively strive to build a sustainable world that fosters a creative, robust community of information generators and consumers. The ACRL 2015 Conference Committee invites proposals that contribute to the academic library ecosystem by sharing research and creative endeavors on the conference theme “Creating Sustainable Community.”

“Portland, known for environmental awareness, innovation and active involvement in creating and nurturing forward-looking communities, serves as the perfect backdrop for exploring and advancing libraries’ own sustainability,” said ACRL 2015 Conference Chair Lori Goetsch of Kansas State University. “The conference will also celebrate ACRL’s 75th anniversary, a testament to our longevity and value!”

The conference committee has created a set of conference tags to stimulate thinking and empower submitters to position proposals within the conference theme. The tags will serve to create a unique conference ecosystem and guide attendees to themes of interest and inspiration. Tag and session format descriptions are available on the conference website.
