CHICAGO — The Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), is pleased to announce the arrival of “Sudden Selectors Guide to Physics Resources” by Michael Fosmire. This brand-new title from the ALCTS Collection Management Section (CMS) explains the basics of physics to the nonscientist and lays the groundwork for collecting and using physics materials.

Librarians with responsibilities for either physics collections or science reference will find an abundance of useful materials and resources in this guide and will gain a valuable understanding of the field, learn what physics librarians do and discover ways to use, build and strengthen collections.

This guide is the latest in the popular Sudden Selector’s Guide series. Other volumes cover business, communications studies, chemistry and biology resources.

“Sudden Selector’s Guide to Physics Resources” is available in softcover (ISBN: 978-0-8389-8620-2) and costs $28.50 (ALA member price: $25.65) and the downloadable PDF (ISBN: 978-0-8389-9586-0) costs $13.50 (ALA member price: $12.15). Both versions can be purchased from ALA at 1-800-545-2433, press 7 and online at www.alastore.ala.org/.
