Katy DiVittorio named ALCTS Emerging Leader for 2014

Chicago — Katy DiVittorio, serials acquisitions specialist at Auraria Library, Denver, Colo., has been selected as the ALCTS sponsored Emerging Leader for 2013-2014.  The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) sponsors one Emerging Leader who has chosen collections and technical services as a career and is a member of ALCTS

“I want to express my sincerest appreciation to ALCTS for sponsoring me as a 2014 Emerging Leader.  I am excited and honored to be able to participate in this program.  I have enjoyed being a member of ALCTS and found it to be a very valuable organization and resource,” Ms. DiVittorio said in a recent email.

In her current position, Ms. DiVittorio is responsible for the lifecycle of direct print and online serials collections, bindery workflow, and technical services student employees.  She has also held positions at Lewis and Clark Law School (Portland, Ore.) and Brooks Institute (Ventura, Calif.).

Katy is a member of ALCTS and its Acquisitions and Continuing Resources Sections and the ALCTS New Members Interest Group.  She is also active in the North American Serials Interest Group (NASIG) and the Colorado Association of Libraries (CAL).

She received her undergraduate degree in psychology (Dean’s list, cum laude) from Seattle University and her library degree from San Jose State University.

After her year in the Emerging Leader Program, Katy will serve a one year term as intern to the ALCTS Board of Directors.
