CHICAGO — The American Library Association International Relations Round Table will be presenting on the topic “Internationalizing Your Library” at the online Library 2.013 conference at 2 p.m. Pacific time on Friday, Oct. 18.

Beneficial for all librarians wanting to add more international aspects to their libraries, this presentation will walk participants through the IRRT website, highlighting IRRT tools and resources for helping in this process.  Whether it is increasing ethnic cultural collections to reflect changing demographics of library users, establishing a foreign sister library to promote cross-cultural awareness or developing outreach services to international users (students or immigrants), this presentation will offer tips and suggestions to help.

This event is presented entirely online (i.e. a webinar) and is free.  Librarians wishing to view it must register at the Library 2.013 conference website.

The International Relations Round Table promotes interest in library issues and librarianship worldwide; helps coordinate international activities within the American Library Association, serves as a liaison between the International Relations Committee and those members of the Association interested in international relations; develops programs and activities which further the international objectives of ALA; and provides hospitality and information to visitors from abroad.
