Maps the RDA way - the Sequel, featuring Paige Andrew and Susan Moore

CHICAGO - Did you attend the program "Maps the RDA way" at the annual conference in Chicago? Do you have questions now that you've come back? Or were you unable to get to the session and want some information? If so, you're in luck. There will be a follow-up webinar at 1 p.m. Central on July 22. This webinar will start with the questions the program didn't address but will also provide time for new questions.
In 1995, Paige G. Andrew became the maps cataloging librarian at the Pennsylvania State University Libraries. He has more than 25 years of experience as a maps cataloger and has taught many basic map cataloging workshops since 1994.
He has also been an active member of MAGIRT since 2005, serving continuously on its Cataloging and Classification Committee and participating in teaching MAGIRT-sponsored preconference workshops on map cataloging, He currently serves as the MAGIRT treasurer and is a candidate for chair-elect. Most recently he served on the LC PCC’s Relationship Designator Guidelines Task Force (2012), is leading RDA training at his institution and has been cataloging sheet maps using RDA for more than a year
In recent years he also has been at the forefront of cataloging cartographic materials using Resource Description and Access (RDA), including creating and delivering an ALCTS webinar in September 2010 titled RDA and Cartographic Materials: Mapping a New Route and co-authoring a book on the topic to be published later in 2013. Author of "Cataloging Sheet Maps, the Basics," as well as similar publications on cartographic materials cataloging, he has also participated or lead in both the creation of and revision to cartographic materials cataloging standards. He is also co-founder and co-editor of the Journal of Map and Geography Libraries: Advances in Geospatial Information, Collections and Archives. Andrew is a graduate of the University of Washington (MLS, 1986) and Western Washington University (BA, Geography, 1984).
In 1996 Susan Moore became a cataloging librarian/bibliographer at the University of Northern Iowa. She has been a cataloger for more than 25 years and has taught map cataloging workshops since 1999.
Moore has been an active member in library associations at both the state and national level. She is a member of the Map and Geospatial Information Round Table (MAGIRT) of the American Library Association, currently serving as chair of its Cataloging and Classification Committee. She is also the MAGIRT liaison to the MARC Advisory Committee. She has participated in teaching Preconference workshops on map cataloging with Paige Andrew and has served as secretary and chair of MAGIRT. She has been following the development of and participated in discussions concerning the implementation of RDA
Moore received her MLS from the University of Iowa in 1984 and holds a M.A. in Geography from the University of Arizona and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Northern Iowa.
