CHICAGO —Heather Krasna, career expert and author, will present “Leading at all Levels: Taking Charge of Your Career Growth While Mentoring Others” at the 2012 LLAMA President’s Program during the ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim, Calif.  The program will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 at the Marriott Hotel, Elite Ballroom.

“I look forward to welcoming LLAMA's President's Program speaker Heather Krasna,” said Janine Golden, LLAMA President.  “This program will highlight my efforts this presidential year to foster career development through LLAMA. Ms. Krasna will address current as well as future leaders and will give tips on fostering one's own career leadership development through opportunities such as networking, continuing education, coaching and mentoring, both within as well as outside of LLAMA."

During this engaging session participants will gain the ability to:

  • Visualize their 5-10 year goals for work and life
  • Prioritize the top non-negotiable items in their goal
  • Identify the barriers to reaching their goal and find ways to overcome or manage them
  • Understand the importance of mentoring those they lead and overcome the challenges in being a mentor or mentee
  • Find others to help them in their career and goal-setting

Whether your five-year goal is to be promoted, change career tracks, enhance the scope of your position or even to retire, by the end of this session participants will have an inspiring new goal to achieve and a plan in place to get there.
