CHICAGO – At 1 p.m. Central on Thursday, May 3, the Public Library Association (PLA) will host a free, hour-long Facebook Forum on the topic of safely managing disruptive patrons at the library. Moderator, Stacy Schrank, employee development coordinator, Metropolitan Library System, Oklahoma City, Okla., has already led a discussion on this topic in a packed room at the PLA 2012 Conference in Philadelphia.

There is no registration required for the PLA Facebook Forum. Participants can simply visit the PLA Facebook Page from 1 to 2 p.m. Central and post their questions about establishing guidelines to define disruptive activity, how to professionally enforce guidelines, tips for training staff to meet this challenge and more!

Join PLA and Stacy on Facebook, 1 p.m. Central, May 3, to discuss safe and effective methods to keep the peace at your library.

PLA is a division of the American Library Association. PLA’s core purpose is to strengthen public libraries and their contribution to the communities they serve. Its mission is to enhance the development and effectiveness of public library staff and public library services.
