AASL webinar presents the power of care in the school library program

CHICAGO — The June 12 Knowledge Quest webinar, hosted by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), will focus on caring and its place in the school library program. Presented by Olga Nesi, the webinar “The Transformative Power of Care,” will look at how showing care can make school library programs stronger and help them become the heart of the school community. The webinar will begin at  7 p.m. To register, visit www.ala.org/aasl/ecollab/upcoming.

Nesi will guide participants through ways to have caring interactions with the different constituents of the school community and how to offer reading guidance to students and colleagues in a caring way. Webinar participants will be left with an understanding of how care can transform those around them into becoming “attentive, heedful, concerned, engaged, and interested.”

“This webinar series adds to the already great professional resource that is Knowledge Quest,” said Carl Harvey, AASL president. “Attendees will have the unique opportunity to expand on ideas and information while in the company of their peers and the article’s author.”

The Knowledge Quest webinar series explores topics related to the editorial theme of the most recent issue. Each webinar is presented by an author or authors from the issue.
