New graphic novels, children’s reference and hot mysteries — free Booklist webinars in April

CHICAGO - Booklist’s free webinars always attracts crowds of attendees. Booklist editors host leading practitioners, authors and publishers’ representatives at least once a month on a variety of topics that offer immediate tips, tools, resources and new ideas for collection development and readers’ advisory work. The webinars are recorded and archived on the Booklist Online webinars page, where you can also find information about upcoming offerings.

All the webinars start at 1 p.m. CDT on Tuesdays.

“Picture These: What's New with Graphic Novels,” April 10. Hear about this spring’s crop of hot new graphic novels for children and teens. Join us for an exciting, hour-long program moderated by Booklist Books for Youth senior editor Ian Chipman and featuring a panel of representatives from six leading graphic-novel publishers: ABDO, First Second Books, Kids Can Press, Papercutz, TOON Books and Top Shelf.   You can register here.

“What's New in Children's Reference,” April 19, explores how children's reference has changed over the years and how publishers are creating new publications and innovative delivery methods to help librarians meet new challenges. “The Murderous Month of May: Hot Mysteries for Spring,” April 24.
