Applications due March 1 for YALSA's award-winning quarterly journal

CHICAGO — Applications are due March 1 for a Member Editor for YALSA’s quarterly journal, Young Adult Library Services, a three-time APEX Award honoree. The deadline for applications is March 1.

The Member Editor will be responsible for the textual and pictorial content of the quarterly publication and will work closely with YALSA’s Editorial Advisory Board, member groups and YALSA’s Web Services Manager to solicit articles and information. The member editor will also edit and proof all copy for each issue.

Applicants must have published editorial experience, excellent communications skills, the technical capacity to work in an electronic environment and be YALSA members. Experience in library service to young adults is preferred.

The Member Editor will be selected by May 1, 2011.  The term of the appointment is two years, beginning with work on the Fall 2011 issue and ending with completion of the Summer 2013 issue. The Member Editor will receive an honorarium of $500 per issue and $500 to attend ALA’s Midwinter Meeting and Annual Conference.
