CHICAGO—ALA Editions, the publishing imprint of the American Library Association, announces the publication of “Reid’s Read-Alouds 2: Modern-Day Classics from C.S. Lewis to Lemony Snicket,” by Rob Reid.
 
In this companion to his best-selling book “Reid’s Read-Alouds,” the children’s lit guru dips back into the classics to highlight outstanding titles published between 1950 and 1999 that continue to connect with kids and teens today. From humor and drama to science fiction and history, Reid makes it easy to find just the right place to begin, with unique 10-minute read-aloud suggestions drawn from 200 carefully selected titles. Reid is the best-selling author of numerous books on children’s programming for ALA Editions. He has also written resource books for Upstart Books, as well as two picture books. He teaches courses on children’s and adolescent literature and a variety of library topics at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.
