For Immediate Release
CHICAGO - The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) is holding a video contest in advance of its ACRL 2011 conference, to be held March 30 – April 2, 2011, in Philadelphia. The association is seeking user-created videos up to three minutes in length describing the benefits of ACRL conferences and why academic and research librarians should attend ACRL 2011. The contest winner will receive either two free ACRL 2011 registrations or one group ACRL 2011 virtual conference registration (good for up to three people).
To enter, post your video online, tag it with acrl2011 and send the URL to Tory Ondrla, ACRL conference supervisor, at email@example.com. You will receive a confirmation e-mail. The deadline for submission is Jan. 21, 2011.
An award committee consisting of the ACRL 2011 conference chair and members of the ACRL staff will select the video they feel most effective at convincing people to attend the conference. Preference may be given to videos that effectively use humor, have pop culture themes or references and are fun to watch. The winner will be contacted by Jan. 31, 2011.
Complete details, including full contest rules and regulations, are available on the ACRL 2011 website at www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/acrl/events/national/2011/video.cfm. For more information, contact Tory Ondrla at tondrla@ ala.org.
