Discover 25 YA Classics at YALSA's June 17 webinar

CHICAGO - Classics never go out of style — and that’s true for young adult literature. Librarians looking to delve into the gold standard of books for teens should join the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) for “YA Classics,” an hour-long webinar hosted by Sarah Debraski, YALSA past president. The webinar will take place at 2 p.m. EDT June 17.

 

Debraski will highlight classic YA books written between 1951 and 2003, discussing the themes and issues raised by each. She will also offer advice for connecting modern teens to classic literature and suggest recent titles that might achieve classic status in the future. Participants will receive a list of 25 go-to titles that they can use for readers’ advisory or to add to their collections.

Webinars cost $39 for individual YALSA members and $49 for all other individuals. Registration is open at www.ala.org/yalsa/webinars.
