Get your library in strategic shape at PLA Results Boot Camp with June Garcia and Sandra Nelson
CHICAGO - The Public Library Association (PLA) is offering a unique opportunity for extended, interactive professional development with June Garcia and Sandra Nelson at the PLA Results Boot Camp: “Results Are What Matters: Management Tools and Techniques to Improve Library Services and Programs,” August 21–25, 2012, at the Nashville (Tenn.) Public Library.
PLA Boot Camp is a four-and-a-half day intensive education program designed around PLA’s Results series and is intended to offer public library management training not provided in library school. By the end of the program, participants will have learned techniques in:
- Strategic Planning
- Data-Based Decision-Making
- Effective Resource Allocation
- Implementation Strategies
- Change Management
Interested librarians are required to fill out an online application to be accepted into Boot Camp. Participation is limited to ensure an environment that fosters group interaction and active engagement. The application deadline is June 29, 2012. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance into the program within two weeks of submitting an application and can then proceed with registration.
Cost to attend the four-and-a-half day workshop is $795 (PLA Members), $895 (ALA Members) and $995 (Nonmembers). For more information and to fill out an application, please visit the website.
