CHICAGO— ALA Graphics adds another new item to help you promote your library with the Friend Your Library Poster and Bookmark. Produced in collaboration with the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF), the set recognizes the important role of Friends groups and reminds patrons of simple, yet effective ways they can support their local library, such as signing up for a library card, borrowing items and volunteering.
“The new ‘Friend Your Library’ bookmarks and poster give librarians and Friends groups a wonderful means to highlight the ways in which library patrons can support their libraries and an encouragement for folks to join their Friends group,” said Sally Gardner Reed, executive director of ALTAFF.“It can be surprising how many library lovers don’t know about Friends!”
ALA Graphics encourages libraries to use the Wish List feature at the ALA Store, which allows you to add these and other products of interest to an online list that can be updated, printed or e-mailed to your Friends group. “This is a convenient way for libraries to communicate their product needs to their Friends group or other library supporters,” said Rachel Johnson, director of ALA Graphics.
