The American Library Association (ALA) has chosen Nicole Lewis of Grantsville, Utah as the 2020 Tom and Roberta Drewes Scholarship recipient.

The $3,000 scholarship is awarded to a library support staff worker who is pursuing a master’s degree in library and information science.

Lewis has been working in the library field for nearly fifteen years, and currently works as the lead cataloger in the J.W. Marriott Library at the University of Utah. She says she enjoys giving back to the profession through presentations and her work on committees.

References attest to her professionalism, experience with library-related work, and capacity for innovation and growth. One reference commented that Lewis “has such a passion for librarianship and the good it does in the world. I have counted on her help in designing solutions for clients, maintaining excellent relationships, and ensuring that her teams are always producing at their best.” Another reference stated that Lewis “has been extraordinarily innovative in improving practices and workflows. She displays an amazing level of competence and provides exceptional leadership.”

Lewis attends the University of Alabama.
