Registration for the 2020 ALSC Virtual Institute, “Dive In: Engage, Amplify, Activate,” is now open! This year’s Virtual Institute will convene October 2-3, 2020, in lieu of the originally planned in-person event in Minneapolis, MN.

ALSC is pleased that, through the generous support of the William C. Morris Endowment, registration for this year’s Institute will be $50 for ALSC members and $75 for non-ALSC members. The William C. Morris Endowment funds programs, publications, events, and/or awards that promote excellence in children’s literature.

“Shifting to a virtual environment has given ALSC an opportunity to make this event affordable and accessible,” said ALSC President, Kirby McCurtis. “We are excited about sharing the excellence of ALSC Institute programming with a broader community of children’s librarians and others who are committed to library services to all children.”

General session panels will include authors Minh Lê, Carole Lindstrom, Bao Phi, Kao Kalia Yang, and 2020 Stonewall Children’s and Youth Adult Literature winner Kyle Lukoff, as well as illustrator Michaela Goade. The event will also feature a full slate of education sessions, networking opportunities and live discussions about issues in children’s librarianship and children’s literacy.
