AASL members on ballot for ALA positions

CHICAGO – When ALA election polls open on March 9, 2020, several members of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) will be included on the ballot as candidates for American Library Association (ALA) leadership positions. AASL members are encouraged to vote for division and ALA leadership positions that will shape the future direction of the association.   

AASL members running for ALA Councilor-at-Large include Carl A. Harvey II, Peter Hepburn, Steve L. Matthews, Liz Philippi, Alice A. Robinson, and Daniella Smith. 

AASL member Steven D. Yates is running for the position of 2021-2022 ALA President.

Polls close April 1. To be eligible to vote, ALA and AASL membership had to be current as of January 31, 2020. Between March 9 – 11, eligible voters will receive an e-mail with a unique URL to be used to cast their ballot.
