CHICAGO—ALA Publishing eLearning Solutions announces a new session of our popular workshop, Getting the Most Out of Library Volunteers with Catherine Hakala-Ausperk. This workshop will last 90 minutes and take place at 2:30pm Eastern/1:30 Central/12:30 Mountain/11:30am Pacific on Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

Volunteers can be great resources for your library—they can provide free talent and experience to your programs and can help get your community more involved in the library. In this 90-minute workshop, learn about all the benefits of having a volunteer program and understand how to overcome common pitfalls of working with library volunteers.

Catherine Hakala-Ausperk, a former library director with extensive experience navigating the staff-volunteer dynamic, guides you through this workshop and teaches you how to launch and maintain a volunteer program. You’ll walk away from this workshop knowing how to better work with volunteers to enhance your library’s offerings and how to grow an effective volunteer program.
