ALA will launch the new ALA Connect on Wednesday, April 25, bringing with it new features and updates to members’ online collaborative space for networking, learning, growing, and engaging on a variety of topics of interest.
ALA is upgrading to a new platform, powered by Higher Logic. This modern system offers an intuitive, mobile-friendly interface and will give members new features, including:
- a personalized content dashboard
- automated recognition on your member profile
- easy networking options
- privacy profile options
- access to a robust member directory
Additional features in the works include a more user-friendly volunteer application process, a mentor match module, and more.
To migrate the data from the current Connect system, ALA will need to interrupt service for a few weeks (March 26-April 25) while migrating to the new system. During this “gray-out” period, users will not be able to log in and only public content will be viewable on the current site. Member documents and groups in the current Connect will be migrated to the new Connect, and there will be no loss of any previous discussion or file content.
The new ALA Connect will launch April 25. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Brian K. Willard at firstname.lastname@example.org.
