CHICAGO – Voting for the 2017 Teens’ Top Ten official titles is now open.

Teens all around the world can start casting their votes for their favorite titles for the 2017 Teens’ Top Ten (TTT) now through October 14 at www.ala.org/yalsa/teenstopten. The voting page, hosted by DOGObooks, showcases all 26 nominees with their respective book covers and summaries, as well as the opportunity for teens to leave comments about their favorite titles. The “top ten” titles will be announced the week following Teen Read Week™, which takes place October 8-14.

All teens aged 12-18 are eligible to participate in the voting process and can vote for up to three of their favorite titles from the list of 26 nominees. A video featuring the 26 nominated titles can be found on YALSA’s Teens’ Top Ten web page. Libraries can support this effort by sharing these resources with their teen patrons and encouraging them to vote. Other strategies for engaging teen patrons around the Teens’ Top Ten can be found in YALSA’s free Teens’ Top Ten Toolkit.

The Teens' Top Ten is a teen choice list, with teens nominating and choosing their favorite books of the previous year. Nominators are members of teen book groups from 20 school and public libraries around the country. YALSA is not currently accepting applications for new groups, but will begin to in August 2018.

Nominations for the Teens’ Top Ten are posted in April during National Library Week, and teens across the country have the opportunity to read the titles throughout the summer and then vote on their favorite titles each year. To learn more about the Teens’ Top Ten, please visit the Teens’ Top Ten website.

A digital image of the Teens’ Top Ten seal for nominated and official titles is available to publishers for licensing. Arrangements can be made through ALA's Rights and Permissions office for publishers who need permission to reproduce the seal on a paperback edition or book jacket.
