CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) has selected Stephen Ashley, Teen Engagement Coordinator at the Chapel Hill (North Carolina) Public Library as its new member manager for its blog, The Hub.
“I'm super excited to take over as the YALSA Hub member manager!” said Ashley. “I'm looking forward to working with YALSA members to share useful content on the Hub about creating collections that are diverse and reflective of the interests of teens today.”
As member manager, Ashley will lead an advisory board that provides oversight for the blog and solicits content from the YALSA community. He will also finish the process of transitioning the selected book lists to The Hub.
Ashley succeeds Molly Wetta, who served as the member manager of the Hub for the past two years and will serve as the new member manager now through August 2018.
The mission of The Hub: Your Connection to Teen Collections is to provide timely information about emerging and new practices for evaluating, selecting and curating materials; raise awareness about appropriate YALSA tools to facilitate innovation in teen collections; and provide resources for members and the library community to support their efforts to continuously improve their teen collection and content curation.
