Ian Richardson wins BRASS SimplyMap Student Travel Award
CHICAGO-Ian Richardson, student at Wayne State University, has been selected as the 2017 BRASS SimplyMap Student Travel Award winner. Administered by the Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), the award is sponsored by SimplyMap, and includes $1,250 to fund travel expenses to the ALA Annual Conference.
“Ian Richardson’s journey from entrepreneur to library school student at Wayne State University is inspiring. His enthusiasm and passion to become a business librarian makes him an ideal candidate to benefit from becoming active in BRASS,” said committee chair Bobray Bordelon. “He has sought out opportunities to increase his knowledge of the field and has worked hard to become the go-to person for business information at his library at the University of Louisiana. We welcome Ian to the field!”
