CHICAGO – Join the Public Library Association (PLA) to learn how an Individual Development Plan (IDP) can be a helpful tool to identify, organize, and communicate your career goals. “YOU are the Goal! Career & Individual Development Planning” will take place on March 23 at 1:00 p.m. Central.
Instructor Margaret Driscoll, learning organization librarian at UC Santa Barbara (Calif.), will provide participants with tips and guidelines about the purpose of an IDP and how to put it into action. Participants will explore the components of an IDP, learn about free and low-cost learning resources that can support professional development, and gain tools for communicating a development plan to their supervisors.
The cost to attend “YOU are the Goal! Career & Individual Development Planning” is $28 (PLA Members), $31.50 (ALA Members) and $35 (Nonmembers). Groups of any size can register for $129. The registration deadline is 11:59 p.m. Central on Monday, March 21.
