2012 Midwinter Meeting Press Kit
The American Library Association (ALA) is the voice of America’s libraries. Generally held in January, the ALA Midwinter Meeting draws more than 10,000 leaders in the library and information industry for some 1,800 meetings and events. About 425 exhibits feature the latest in books, videos, computers and other materials and resources available to millions of library users.
If you are a press member looking for registration information, please view the ALA's Media Credential Policy.
As part of the conference, the ALA will announce its Youth Media Awards. Each year the ALA honors books, videos and other outstanding materials for children and teens. Recognized worldwide for the high-quality they represent, ALA awards guide parents, educators, librarians and others in selecting the best materials for youth.
The 2012 award winners will be announced at 7:45 a.m. CT, Monday, Jan. 23, at the Dallas Convention Center. A live Webcast of the award announcements will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Award press release will be posted online by 10 a.m. CT at www.ala.org.
