Important Information about the 2020 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition related to Coronavirus COVID-19.
The American Library Association has made the difficult decision to cancel its Annual Conference & Exhibition scheduled for June 25-30, 2020, in Chicago. The association will now offer ALA Virtual - Community Through Connection.
The event will feature a portfolio of more than 50 educational sessions, including COVID-19 related information pertinent to libraries; live chat opportunities with authors and speakers; an exhibitor showcase with more than 500 participating exhibitors; and presentations in an on-demand format from book publishers on forthcoming book titles.

Those requesting media registration must be currently employed by a news publication or organization. Each organization is limited to no more than five media representatives, except newsletters, which are limited to one. Account representatives, sales executives, book authors, and engineers do not meet the criteria for media registration. You must fall under one of the following to receive media registration:
Business and Trade Publications/News Wire Services
Reporters and editors from magazines, newspapers, trade publications, and wire services must provide a business card. Contributing editors and reporters must verify they have been retained to cover ALA Virtual - Community Through Connection by presenting a letter of assignment.
Television and Radio
Broadcast reporters and producers from news organizations must provide a business card and a letter of assignment.
Freelance writers must verify they have been retained to cover the ALA Virtual - Community Through Connection by presenting a letter of assignment.
Reporters from online publications must provide a letter of assignment. The web site must contain editorial content and cover library issues. Personal web pages and blogs will not be accepted.
Newsletter reporters must verify they have been retained to cover the ALA Virtual - Community Through Connection by presenting a letter of assignment. Newsletter publications will be limited to one media representative.
