CHICAGO — Turning reluctant young adult readers into enthusiastic book lovers is a challenge that every teen and school librarian faces — and YALSA will give you 30 surefire strategies to make this happen at its September webinar, Ready, Set, Go! 30 Ways to Reach Reluctant Readers in 60 Minutes. The webinar will take place at 2 p.m. EDT September 16. Registration is now open at www.ala.org/yalsa/webinars.

Host Jen Hubert Swan, author of the popular Reading Rants! teen book review blog and former member of YALSA’s Alex and Printz Award committees, will offer practical tactics for reaching reluctant teen readers, including displays, booktalks, and contest ideas. Participants will come away from the webinar with tools and tactics to engage YA readers and kickstart programs and collections at their library.

Webinars cost $39 for individual YALSA members and $49 for all other individuals. Registration is open at www.ala.org/yalsa/webinars. YALSA also offers a group rate of $195, available by contacting Eve Gaus, YALSA’s program officer for continuing education, at egaus@ala.org or 1 (800) 545-2433, ext. 5293.
