Community of Practice: Human Resources
Cmt Charge: To improve overall library effectiveness by facilitating and promoting effective staff development programs in order to maximize their abilities to successfully perform their responsibilities, and to provide support and educational opportunities for library supervisors, and to encourage the development of leadership skills in future library leaders. Offerings include programs, publications, media materials, and workshops. Areas in which the committee has ongoing interests are: needs assessment, goals and objectives, policy statements, responsibilities of staff development personnel, program design, successful learning activities, supervision and management skills, and evaluation techniques. Committee membership is to be representative of all types of libraries.
