This biennial competition is co-sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). The awards honor excellence in library interior design, incorporating aesthetics, design creativity, function, and satisfaction of the client’s objectives. The competition is managed by the LLAMA Buildings and Equipment Section (BES) Interior Design Awards Committee.
2014 Award Entry Information
The Online Entry Form will be available in late December 2013. Entries are generally due in late March and winning projects are announced in early April. The link to the form and additional information will be posted here when it is available.
2014 Award Juror Application
The 2014 Juror Application is now available, and applications will be accepted through January 13, 2014. The awards are juried by at least two librarians and two interior design professionals. Juror selection is based on an applicant's experiences in terms of type of libraries represented, project sizes, geographic areas, and previous jury experiences. Applicants are required to be members of LLAMA BES, but may not be members of the LLAMA Board of Directors or the BES Executive Committee.
2014 Awards Presentation
Winning projects will be honored June 29, 2014, at the American Library Association Annual Conference in Las Vegas, NV.
