Tom Wilson is currently the Head of Systems for the University of Houston Libraries. In ALA, he is most active in LITA serving as the Chair of the Publications Committee and as the founding Editor-in-Chief of Telecommunications Electronic Reviews, an electronic-only journal of LITA that reviews materials dealing with networking and telecommunications. In the American Society for Information Science, he is a member of the Standards Committee. He also serves on the OCLC Collections and Technical Services Advisory Committee. His book, The Systems Librarian: Designing Roles Defining Skills, was recently published by ALA Editions. He is also the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Public-Access Computer Systems Review. His areas of interest include technology in general, but computing and networking specifically; management of and training in technology; planning and policy making; music; history; future studies, and creativity.
