Co-hosted by the LITA Standards Interest Group and NISO, NISO representatives will explain how standards are developed as well as what other deliverables (like Recommended Practices) NISO working groups produce. Following that presentation, an open forum will be held to give participants a chance to identify and discuss pressing issues they face in their workplaces and how new standards might help streamline their operations. The organizers of this session hope to walk away with new ideas for potential NISO work items around which working groups can be formed and real progress can be made. Come armed with your ideas and be ready to engage as an active participant.

HOLT provides a forum and support network for people with administrative responsibility for technology and computing in a library setting. This relatively informal meeting will include introductions, announcements, discussion of LITA and HoLT business and an update on our program for Annual. Discussion will include HoLTTalk; a round-table discussion of current IT issues facing attendees as well as solicitation for the upcoming Vice Chair position.
Linked Library Data Interest Group

The midwinter meeting of the Linked Library Data Interest Group will include one hour of informal discussion followed by a 30 minute business meeting. The meeting will open with updates from the chairs on recent developments in the LLD landscape, and attendees will be invited to give brief lightning talks. This will be followed by a short summary of Friday's "Libraries, Linked Data and the Semantic Web" institute and a discussion of topics arising from this event. The business meeting portion will primarily be focused on planning the proposed ALCTS Annual preconference.
Next Generation Catalog Interest Group

The LITA Next Generation Catalog Interest Group invites representatives from major next generation catalog system vendors, including Ex Libris, eXtensible Catalog Organization, OCLC, and Serials Solutions. Each representative will demonstrate distinctive features of their system and will join in a panel discussion on topics, such as challenges of developing next generation catalog systems, embracing non-MARC metadata, and taking advantage of linked data.
Participants are encouraged to ask any question related to next generation catalog systems. A brief business meeting of the Next Generation Catalog Interest Group will be following.

Authority Control Interest Group (LITA/ALCTS)

The focus of our program will be updates on special Authority Control projects. Janis Young from the Library of Congress will give an update of the genre/forms projects at LC. Robert Bremer of OCLC will provide updates on VIAF and the genre/form implementation in WorldCat.
