Electronic Resources Management Interest Group (LITA / ALCTS)

Charge

The purpose of the LITA/ALCTS electronic resources management interest group is to promote and enable the exchange of information and discussion among librarians, publishers, electronic resource management system vendors and related service organizations concerning issues related to the management of electronic resources. The group will assist in developing appropriate and responsive systems and standards by fostering open and collaborative discussions of software requirements, licensing and coverage data standards, and implementation issues.

Composition

Interest groups are self-initiated and not appointed by LITA officers.  Membership consists of any number of participants and is open to LITA members.  The leadership of each group is selected by the group.

Origin

The ALCTS / LITA Electronic Resources Management Interest Group was established in 2005.  To contribute information about the history of this interest group, contact LITA's Web Coordinating Committee at litaweb@ala.org.
