Joint membership program

 

Students — Join ALA and your state library association (chapter) for one low price.

Thirty-seven chapters allow students to join them and ALA for one low price of $38, from now through August 31, 2016. (See also Join Your State Library Association Today!). To apply for joint student membership online, please find your state association immediately below and complete the online form through ALA's secure database.  

NOTE: If your state library association is not yet a joint student membership partner, you can still join ALA as a student member. See ALA Student Member Portal.

  • Frequently Asked Questions AnsweredPlease note that students have 90 days after joining a state chapter to add ALA membership and receive the discounted joint rate.  Past 90 days, current ALA students can convert their memberships to joint student memberships when your Chapter membership comes up for renewal. Of course you can individually join ALA at any time.

  • See ALA Student Membership: Frequently Asked Questions AnsweredPlease note that ALA membership cannot be added as a joint membership to a current Chapter membership of course a student can join ALA at anytime.   The time frame for current ALA students to convert their memberships to joint student memberships is 90 days or a student can join ALA as a joint ALA-Chapter member when your Chapter membership come up for renewal.
