The American Library Association (ALA) has been accredited as an Authorized Provider of continuing education units (CEUs) by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
IACET Authorized Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET CEUs. The accreditation period extends for five years, and includes all programs offered or created during that time which meet specific criteria.
In obtaining this accreditation, ALA has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard which is recognized internationally as a standard of good practice. In order to achieve Authorized Provider accreditation, ALA completed a rigorous application process — including a review by an IACET site visitor, and successfully demonstrated adherence to strict guidelines and requirements.
ALA has pledged its continued compliance with the Standard, and is now authorized to use the IACET name and Authorized Provider logo on promotional course material. In addition, ALA is now linked to the IACET web site and is endorsed as offering the highest quality continuing education and training programs.
ALA is a recognized leader in developing and delivering training and educational programs in the field of library services. ALA offers programs that provide professional development opportunities directly to individual learners through e-learning online webinars and in-person seminars and workshops. For more information about our course offerings, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The mission of the ALA is to provide leadership for the development, promotion, and improvement of library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to enhance learning and ensure access to information for all.
