Sponsorships:

The following organizations have agreed to financially sponsor a limited number of Emerging Leaders. (In order to be considered for one of these sponsorships, applicants must be an individual member of the sponsoring organization selected on their application). Each sponsor will contribute up to $1000 for expenses ($500 each conference). Selection may be made by the sponsoring organization.

Sponsorship is not required to participate in the program. However, if you are not sponsored, you will be expected to pay all of your own expenses related to attending both ALA conferences.

A complete application includes:

  1. Online application
  2. Letter of approval from supervisor, if appropriate
  3. Personal resume or curriculum vita (uploaded in application)
  4. Two letters of recommendation. When you submit your application, your references will receive automated messages which will include a link to the reference form. Applicants are encouraged to notify references before you apply so they know to expect a message regarding your application to the EL program.

 

Important: In order to be considered for the Emerging Leaders program, all application materials must be submitted to ALA on or before August 1, 2016 11:59pm Central time. This includes letters of reference as well as letters of approval from supervisors (if applicable).




Certification:

If selected to participate in the ALA Emerging Leaders program, I will commit to serve on either an ALA or other professional, library-related organizational committee, at the completion of the program.
