How to Play the Game
How to Play the Game
1. Select your age group (below) and complete the short registration form. This will be your opportunity to create a unique username and password that will allow you to log out and back in to the game. Clicking on “Register Now!” will take you to first base.
2. Select one question from each “base,” for a total of four questions, and use your library’s print and electronic resources to find the correct answers. If you need assistance, consult your librarian—the ultimate search engine.
3. After you have filled in your answer for First Base, you must click Save and Go to 2nd Base. You must save your answers at each base. If you do not, your answers will be lost.
4. Once you’ve filled in your answers on each of the bases, press the Process My Answers button. IMPORTANT: Do not hit this button until you’re sure you’re ready. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LOG BACK IN OR PLAY AGAIN!
5. If you need more time or need to step away from the computer, simply click on the Log Out button and your information will be saved. When you’re ready, log back at www.ala.org/baseball to complete the game. Just remember to submit your answers by September 1, 2009.
6. If you answer four questions correctly, you will be entered into a national drawing to win a trip to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, to attend the World Series Gala in October 2009! You could also win one of 20 runner-up prizes.
Note: Once you’re in the game, you will be able to click on “Print Playbook” at the bottom of the screen to help you look up the answers and fill them in when you’re ready.
