Join us for this popular event celebrating the Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction, which are cosponsored by Booklist and RUSA and supported by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York.

This year’s program, sponsored by NoveList, will include Sara Paretsky, the featured speaker as well as remarks from fiction medalist Colson Whitehead (The Underground Railroad) and nonfiction medalist Matthew Desmond (Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City). Both Whitehead and Desmond also won the Pulitzer Prize in 2017!  The speakers will mingle with attendees and publishers at a dessert and drinks reception following the award presentation on Saturday, June 24, 8-10 p.m. at Hilton Chicago.

The ceremony and reception are part of ALA's Annual Conference in Chicago, but this event is open to the public.  Tickets are $40 ($30 for members of Reference & User Services Association).

Purchase your tickets on the ALA Annual Conference site: 2017.alaannual.org. To register if you're not attending the conference select “Single Session” on the third page of the conference registration process which is a $0 fee!
