This award is given out on an annual basis.

Eligibility

Award title(s)
  • must deal with topics and issues pertinent to library professionals
  • must be an original work
  • may be part of a monographic series
  • must be published in the United States or Canada
  • may be of joint authorship
  • must have been published between January 1 and December 31 of the year preceding announcement of the award
  • Titles published by the award sponsor, Greenwood Publishing Group, are eligible for the award if they meet all eligibility requirements and criteria, and as long as no Greenwood Publishing Group employees are serving on the ALA Awards Committee.
