National Friends of Libraries Week Awards

About the National Friends of Libraries Week Awards National Friends of Libraries Week Awards recognize Friends groups for activities and programming presented during National Friends of Libraries Week.

Award and Frequency

Five Friends groups will be awarded $250 each, donated by the Lana and Michael Porter Foundation.

This award is given out on an annual basis.

Eligibility

Applicants must be current members of the ALTAFF Friends section or Friends board affiliates

Application Instructions

National Friends of Libraries Week Award applicants must provide a one- to two-page summary of all activities and efforts in conjunction with the celebration of National Friends of Libraries Week. 
Applications for the 2012 awards will be available in October 2012.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be judged on the following:
-Creativity and innovation.
-Involvement of Friends, library staff, Trustees, and/or advisory committee.
-Recognition of Friends group.
-Promotion of Friends group to the community, school, students, and/or faculty.

Notification

Applications will be notified by Dec. 15.
