Certificate in Accessible Web Design

An estimated 50 million people in the U.S. have functional limitations that can affect their ability to use the Web. Recognizing this, Georgia Tech now offers a certificate program tailored to help Web designers and managers meet federal rules for providing access to public computer systems for people with disabilities. Section 508 applies to all federal deaprtments and entities and to all contracts and grants that they sponsor. Many states are passing similar legislation. Upon finishing the three-part course, students receive Georgia Tech's Wesley Center for New Media Certificate in Creating Accessible Web Sites. See newmedia.gatech.edu for more information.
