CHICAGO - The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), has created a Tween Recommended Reads booklist, intended to engage and encourage tweens to read throughout the year.
The Tween Recommended Reads list includes 25 titles chosen specifically to appeal to tweens and to encourage them to read. PDFs of the booklist are available online in full color and black and white and are free to download, copy and distribute.

Library District as its representative in the 2014 Emerging Leader program. Silverman-Montano is currently the Young People’s Library Librarian at the Summerlin Branch of the Las Vegas Clark-County Library District.
CHICAGO — The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), is pleased to announce significant upgrades to "Children and Libraries: The Journal of the Association for Library Service to Children" (CAL). Beginning with Volume 12 in spring 2014, the journal will be issued quarterly and delivered in print and electronically. ALSC members and CAL subscribers will continue to receive a print copy delivered in the mail; plus they will be able to access and read each new issue online.
