North Columbus (GA) Public Library program

From Kim Scott at the North Columbus (GA) Public Library:

“Once a week my library holds a program for 0-24 month old children. The program is based on the Perry study. It involves a 30 minute free play and socialization followed by a 15 minute lap-sit time. The program total is 45 minutes. I use several props and interactive rhymes for the 15 minutes of lap-sit time. I have taught this program for 7 years and the patrons love it. I am very repetitive and time and time again parents come in saying my child has to sing the clean up song when we clean up or out of nowhere my child starts singing head, shoulders, knees and toes.  Out of nowhere my child starts singing head, shoulders, knees and toes. 5 to 10 families come to the weekly program. We gain new families through word of mouth.”
