TIPS FOR VISITING CHICAGO

While planning your trip to the Second City, check out:

Getting Around Town

Chicago is known for deep dish pizza, the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago White Sox and the blues, but you don’t have to get the blues when it comes to arriving in Chi-Town.

  • Midway Airport and O’Hare Airport are the two major airports serving the area.
  • The CTA Orange Line train serves Midway and the CTA Blue Line train serves O’Hare. The blue line runs to downtown, but riders will have to switch to the red line at if they are going straight to McCormick Place. Midway travellers on the orange line will have to switch to the Red Line at Roosevelt to get downtown or to McCormick Place. Before leaving either airport, take a minute to find CTA traintracker to speed you on your way.
  • Uber and Lyft are ride sharing companies that work in Chicago. To catch a ride share at O’Hare, you have to go to the Departures level of the airport. At Midway, use the exits on the baggage claim level.
  • Cab fare from Midway to Downtown, where most of the Conference hotels are located, is about $40. Cab fare from O’Hare is about $50.
  • If driving to the conference, get the skinny on parking and how to get to McCormick Place.
Once you are here, you can also use the conference shuttles, CTA #3 King Drive bus, Divvy Bikes and MetraElectric to get around town.
