Managing Children's Services: Employee Engagement

Learn how to retain and motivate staff by creating a positive workplace culture. This proposal is part of a webinar series hosted by the ALSC Managing Children's Services Committee.

Who Should Attend

Children's Librarians and Youth Services Librarians in public libraries who have minimal management experience, are new in a role with supervisory responsibilities, or who are aspiring to improve their job-related leadership skills for a future promotion. Middle management, (i.e. library staff who supervise children's librarians, although they do not specialize in Youth or Children’s Services), and upper management (i.e. library staff who supervise Children's Services Managers or Supervisors).
 

Instructors

Krissy Wick is the Director of Public Services at the Madison Public Library in Madison, Wisconsin. She is currently a member of the ALSC Managing Children's Services Committee and is the chair of the 2017 Wisconsin Children’s Book Award committee.
