The Association for Library Service to Children worked with LEGO Systems, Inc. to bring Junior Maker Spaces to libraries across the country. The project focused on giving children ages 4 to 6 areas to make and create in their local libraries. Through this project LEGO is provided 750+ libraries nationwide with a physical toolkit to host ongoing Junior Maker sessions in children’s reading areas. Each toolkit included over 10,000 LEGO® bricks, an inspirational poster, activity guide and salient academic insights from the Cultures of Creativity report. Although the project has concluded, you may still use the resources below to support Junior Maker Spaces in your library using LEGO® bricks from your library's collection.
Download this FREE Junior Maker Librarian Toolkit for information and inspiration on how to host a Junior Maker Session in your library. This toolkit was created by LEGO with input from members of ALSC’s Early Childhood Programs and Services Committee.
